The children are working on classroom routines and expectations. Current focus areas in K 2 A Language Arts Sight words a, I, and the have been introduced. Hearing rhymes and hearing syllables are the word study lessons in K 2 A. Hearing and identifying words that rhyme or sound alike, helps children realize that words are made up of sounds and also helps them distinguish individual sounds so they understand that letters and sounds are related. This knowledge will help the children break words apart to solve them. Handwriting The children are recognizing and learning how to print letters of the alphabet. They will be able to names things that begin with the letter and listen for the letter sounds. Math The children are working with the numbers 0-5. They are counting, writing the numerals, and finding different arrangements to show the number. Science Ongoing study of the seasonal changes that happen in Fall. Social Studies Halloween is the holiday the children are are excited to learn about in the classroom.
